During 1991-92 and 1992-93, cultivation of monogerm and multigerm sugar beet seeds was compared in two fields each of about 3 ha.at Shahid- Beheshti and Shahid- Rajaii Agri- business in Dezful. All agronomic practices were identical for both fields. Sugar beet fields were cultivated at 55 cm distance between rows, with monogerm seed sown at 6.4 m 8.8 and 12 cm distances using a seed planter, but multigerm seed sown ordinarily and singled for 20 cm distance at 4-6 leaves stage. Root yield, sugar content, sugar yield and plant population of 10 plots (8.8m2) from both fields were compared, using student statistical method. There were no significant differences between the two fields for sugar content, root and sugar yield.
