Abstract

Three new graminicides , ie: haloxyfop –r- metyl ester (Galant  Super 108 EC); clethodim (Select 25 EC)+specialized adjuvant, and propaquizafop (Agil 100 EC), were tested in comparison with haloxyfop ehtoxy-eth1ester (Galant 12.5% EC)-registered in Iran for the control of grasses in sugar beet fields in Karaj, Isfahan, Dezful, Mashhad, and Arak during 1994. The  RCBD experiments included 11 treatments and 4 replication s. Desmedipham (Betanal AM 15.7% EC) at 5 1/ha was used as a general broadleaf killer in the field. Treatment s which acted similar to, or better than the standard Haloxyfop ethoxyethy1 ester included propaquizafop at 1 and 1.5 1/ha , clethodium at. 4 and 5 l/ha plus 3 l/ha adjuvant, and haloxyfop – r- methyl at .75 and 1 l/ha. These treatments were recommended for registration in Iran.
