Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the co-authorship collaboration coefficient in the papers published in Journal of Sugar Beet. The study was conducted using scientometric method and 224 articles published during 2001-2015. Results showed that in a 15-year period, 396 authors contributed 806 times in writing 224 articles. About 85% of the authors were male and the rest were female. Ninety-nine percent of the articles were written by Iranian authors and the rest by authors from other countries including Syria, England, Germany, and Belgium. Authors from Sugar Beet Seed Institute with frequency of 235 times (29.2%) took the first place followed by Isfahan Agricultural and Natural Resources Research Center (54 times) and Tehran University (38 times), respectively. Most of the authors showed tendency to group writing or co-authorship so that 92% of the articles were published in multi-authorship format. Among the multi-authorship articles, 29.5% had four authors. The co-authorship collaboration coefficient was 68.2% which indicates high collaboration and co-authorship sprit among the authors of this journal.
